- Mauricio Orozco Alzate received his undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering, his M.Eng. degree in Industrial Automation and his Dr.Eng. degree in Automatics from Universidad Nacional de Colombia Sede Manizales, in 2003, 2005 and 2008 respectively. From February to August 2007, he served as a Research Fellow at the Information and Communication Theory Group of Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. Since August 2008, he has been with the Department of Informatics and Computing, Universidad Nacional de Colombia Sede Manizales. He is currently the leader of the research group on theory and management of information technologies at the same University. His main research interests encompass pattern recognition, data analysis algorithms, digital signal processing, programming, scientific software and their applications to engineering and natural sciences.
