My study interests encompass Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning, Wavelet Analysis and Digital Signal Processing. Currently, I am working towards my doctoral degree at the National University of Colombia — Manizales, being simultaneously a Research Fellow at the Information and Communication Theory (ICT) group in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science of the Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. My research project is entitled "Generalized Dissimilarity Representations for Pattern Recognition".

Software

MATLAB provides powerful mathematical tools and plotting capabilities, I like to use it with PRTools: an the excellent toolbox for Pattern Recognition. Sometimes, when MATLAB turns extremely slow doing loops. I prefer programming in C, using the routines from The GNU Scientific Library. Some of my programs can be downloaded from the Software Section.

Publications

The results of my studies can be found in the
Publications Section. Some of the papers are available as PS or PDF files.

LaTeX

This section is a collection of documentation, templates and hints about using LaTeX.

Here you can find information about my courses, there is also a list of recommended books. In addition, some information about the research projects, in which I am (have been) involved, is available.

Personal Information

I was born in 1981 in Manizales (Colombia). I received my undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering and my M.Eng. degree in Industrial Automation from the National University of Colombia, in 2003 and 2005 respectively. I am currently enrolled in the Doctoral Programme in Automatics at the same University. I am a member of the Multivariate Analysis and Pattern Recognition (MVA & PR) Team at the Control and Digital Signal Processing Group. For more detailed information, see my short biography, or my detailed CV which is available in PDF format.
